Sealed bids for 2026-2027 Sanitary Sewer Lateral Investigations and Repairs will be received by the City of Maryland Heights, 11911 Dorsett Road, Maryland Heights, MO 63043, until the above time at which time the bids will be publicly opened and read aloud. All bids must be submitted electronically via Bid Express at www.bidexpress.com. All documents necessary to submit a bid will be available on the bidexpress.com website beginning on October 17, 2025. No paper bids will be accepted.
Plans, specifications, and bid packages will be available beginning October 17, 2025, from Drexel Technologies 60 Progress Parkway, Maryland Heights, MO 63043. Questions should be directed to Ethan Bialik, P.E., at Maryland Heights Government Center (314) 738-2258.
The scope of work includes all labor, materials and equipment necessary to complete all activities within the project limits. The Scope of Work includes utilizing a video camera to verify the location and record the problem with the sewer lateral between the building foundation wall and the sanitary sewer main. A written summary report will be submitted to identify the existing conditions, showing the location with the approximate depth and length of problem. The scope of work also includes repairing the sanitary sewer lateral between the building foundation wall and sanitary sewer main. The work involves the mobilization, excavation, and pipe installation for the new sewer lateral.
Not less than the prevailing hourly rate of wages shall be paid to all workmen performing under this contract in this area according to the rates determined by the Department of Labor and Industrial Relations of the State of Missouri. A bid security in the amount of five percent (5%) of the bid amount must accompany each bid in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders.
The successful bidder shall comply with the requirements of RSMo § 292.675. The requirements include on-site employees to complete the ten (10) hour Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Construction Safety Program, which includes a course in construction safety and health approved by OSHA or a similar program approved by the Department of Labor and Industrial Relations.
For any contract greater than $5,000, the successful bidder shall comply with RSMo § 285.530, as amended and by sworn affidavit affirming that it does not knowingly employ any person who is an unauthorized alien and participation in a federal work authorization program with respect to the employees working in connection with this contract. The required documentation must be from the federal work authorization program provider. A letter from contractors reciting compliance is not sufficient.
The City of Maryland Heights reserves the right to accept or reject any bid and to waive any irregularities in the best interest of the City. A Bid may not be modified, withdrawn or cancelled by the bidder within sixty (60) days following the time and date designated for the receipt of bids, and each bidder so agrees in submitting his bid.
