Sealed Bids for the construction of the OK Railroad Trail project will be received, by the City of Smithville, Missouri, at the City Hall at 107 West Main Street, Smithville, MO 64089, until the above time, at which time the Bids received will be publicly opened and read. The Work includes, but is not limited to, the following:

OK Railroad Trail Project generally includes the construction of 2,230 feet, 10 feet wide concrete trail, with a 4 feet wide lime screen running trail adjacent. Extension of the current storm water culvert and addition of rip rap, installation of 2 benches, water bottle filling station, split fence rail, signage, landscaping, & 2 butterfly gardens.

INSTRUCTIONS TO PROPOSERS:

1. Proposals must be addressed to Mayra Toothman, 107 W. Main Street, Smithville, Missouri 64089and be received before 2 PM local time on October 28, 2025

2. Copies of the contract documents may be obtained for a non-refundable fee from Drexel Technologies on-line at www.drexeltech.com in their eDistribution plan room, additional assistance is available at distribution@drexeltech.com. Contractors desiring the contract documents for use in preparing bids may also obtain a set of such documents from Drexel Technologies, 10840 West 86thStreet, Lenexa, KS 66214. Bidding documents will be shipped only if the requesting party assumes responsibility for all related charges. Corporate, certified, or cashier’s checks shall be made payable to Drexel Technologies, Inc.

3. Bids will be received for a single prime Contract. Bids shall be on a Lump Sum and unit price basis.

4. Bid security in the form of a cashier’s check, certified check, or bid bond on an acceptable bank in an amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the total amount of the bid shall be furnished with the contractors bid.

5. Disabled persons wishing to participate in the RFP closing and who require a reasonable accommodation may call the City at (816) 532-3897. A forty-eight-hour notice is required.

THE CITY OF SMITHVILLE RESERVES THE RIGHT TO REJECT ANY OR ALL PROPOSALS.
