Sealed proposals, addressed to the "City of Excelsior Springs, Missouri" and endorsed "Proposal" for
constructing roadway improvements, City of Excelsior Springs, MO, will be received by the City until
11:00 AM on the 5th day of December, at the office of the Public Works Director, 103 East Water
Street, Excelsior Springs, MO and at that time will be publicly opened and read. The proposed work includes: Reconstruction of McCleary Road north from Highway 69 a distance of approximately 1350 feet. Reconstruction includes removing the existing pavement and constructing new pavement, grading, cross road pipes, new pavement markings, signing, seeding, erosion control, traffic signal modifications and other appurtenances as detailed and/or required. The wage rates applicable to this project have been predetermined as required by law and are set forth in the bid proposal. When Federal wage rates are applicable and included, this contract is subject to the "Work Hours Act of 1962" (P.L. 87-581; Stat. 357) and implementing regulations. By virtue of statutory authority, preference shall be given on other than Federal Aid Projects to materials, products, supplies, provisions and other articles, produced, manufactured, made or grown within the State of Missouri, where same are of a suitable character and can be obtained at reasonable market prices in the State and are a quality suited to the purpose intended and can be secured without additional cost over foreign products or other states. "The City of Excelsior Springs, Missouri hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively insure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, disadvantaged business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, or national origin in consideration for an award". Plans and specifications are on file at the office of the Public Works Director, 201 E. Broadway,Excelsior Springs, MO 64024 and the Consulting Engineer, Shafer, Kline, & Warren, Inc. 11250Corporate Avenue, Lenexa, Kansas 66219. Proposals must be on forms provided. A Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) goal of 10% has been established for this project. The right is reserved to reject any or all bids. Tentative schedule:
