The Project Contract No. 3 - Wastewater Collection System will be performed under one or two Project Contracts. The general nature of the work for both Bid Sections is described as follows: Project consists of providing equipment and materials for installation and/or construction of eleven (11) lift stations, valve pits and associated piping; three (3) grinder pump stations; approximately 62,249 linear feet of 8", 10" and12" gravity sewer main; approximately 23,637 linear feet of 4", 6" and 10" sewer force main, 86,800 linear feet of 4" service lateral; horizontal directional drilling; boring; dewatering; 207 new manholes; manhole protective lining systems; a standby emergency generator; a Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition System (SCADA); abandonment of existing septic tanks; connections to existing sewer service lines; eleven (11) yard hydrants with 1" water service; excavation and trenching; asphalt and concrete paving removal and replacement; electrical and mechanical work and other miscellaneous site work. The project is divided into two(2) Bid Sections for the east and west half collection systems. Work under the proposed Project Contract(s) shall be commenced within ten calendar days from the date of the Notice To Proceed, and the work shall be substantially completed on or before December 18, 2007, and completed in total by May 18, 2008, subject to any extension of time which may be granted by the Owner.
The Engineer?s cost estimate for this project is $5,610,700 for Bid Section I (East Side) and $3,646,400 for Bid Section II (West Side). The Contractor's bid bond, certified check, or cashier's check shall be in an amount of $280,535 for Bid Section I, $182,230 for Bid Section II, and $462,855 for Bidders proposing on both Bid Section I & II made payable to the Treasurer of Sanitary and Improvement District No. 1 of Gosper County (and Dawson County), Nebraska. The certified or cashier's check may be cashed by the Owner, or the bid bond forfeited to the Owner as liquidated damages in the event the successful bidder fails to enter into a Contract and file an acceptable bond satisfactory to the Owner assuring the faithful fulĀfillment of the Contract and maintenance of said improvements, as required by law, within ten days after the acceptance of the Contractor's bid.
