Demolition of the Blue River No. 8 Pump Station project includes, but is not necessarily limited to furnishing all labor, material, equipment, tools, superintendence, and all other services necessary to perform the following Work complete: 1. Electrical Building: Work shall include the demolition of the MCC and pump control panels, all conduit associated with the 460V power system, piping, and valves, and the installation of blind flanges at all pipe terminations. 2. Wetwell: Work shall include the demolition of all conduit, piping, pipe fittings, brackets and braces, pumps, installation of blind flanges at all pipe terminations, plugging the 42? RCP influent sewer, drill anti-floatation holes in the floor of the structure, cutting the remove the DI vent pipes level with the upper surface of the concrete, cut the bolts for the jib crane level with the upper surface of the concrete, and fill the entire structure with compacted sand or AB-3. 3. Meter Vault: Work shall include the demolition of the concrete comprising the top slab and walls of the structure to a depth of four (4) inches below the existing asphalt paving, saw cut the existing asphalt paving surrounding the structure, remove all piping, fittings, brackets and braces from interior of the structure, install blind flanges at all pipe terminations, drill anti-flotation holes in the floor of the structure, and fill the entire structure with compacted sand or AB-3. 4. Site Improvements: Work shall include demolition of the concrete drain pit and plug the associated drain line with concrete, saw cut the existing paving surrounding the drain pip, fill the three (3) junction boxes with concrete, abandon the existing manholes shown on the drawings, and all associated site restoration. 5. Force Main and Gravity Sewer: Work shall include the demolition of three (3) air release vaults and all of the associated piping and valves, removal and replacement of 12 frame and covers, the removal and replacement of three (3) existing manholes, and all associated site restoration. Each Bidder shall submit with their bid a bid bond issued by a surety licensed to do business in the State of Kansas in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total amount of their bid plus all alternates. Said guarantee shall be made payable to the Board of County Commissioners of Johnson County, Kansas. The County reserves the right to award the contract to the lowest and best, responsive and responsible bidder(s) for the work covered by the bid and to reject any or all bids and to waive irregularities and informalities in any bid submitted. Nonresident corporations that are not already registered with the Kansas Secretary of State and all nonresident individuals and partnerships are required by law to register with the Department of Revenue, State Office Building, Topeka, Kansas, and pay a fee for each and every contract as a precedent to commencing work on the contract. For contracts in excess of ten thousand dollars ($10,000.00) the foreign contractor shall file with the Department of Revenue an acceptable bond in an amount of ten percent (10%) of the contract. No bid may be withdrawn within a period of sixty (60) days from the date of the bid opening.
