Entry into the Nelson Wastewater Treatment Plant can be made through the main gate located on Foxridge Drive just east of Lamar Avenue. Bids received by parties that did not attend the pre-bid conference will be returned unopened.

CMSD No. 9 Contract No. 6A, Sanitary Sewer Stream Crossing Repair Project includes, but is not necessarily limited to furnishing all labor, material, equipment, tools, superintendence, and all other services necessary to perform the following construction work complete:
Repair of 6 sanitary sewer stream crossing sites in different locations by various methods. In general the work consists of the following major components: Installation of a special inside drop manhole structure with large block retaining wall; Installation of 140 lf of 8? PVC pipe with two concrete grade control encasements and stream bank improvements; 6? x 6? double throated storm area inlet with 51 lf of 48? Class III RCP pipe; Installation of 4 -6? Dia. standard manholes; Installation of 135 lf of 21? class 52 DIP pipe; Installation of 137 lf of 21? SDR 26 PVC pipe; 35 cy of flowable fill mortar for the abandonment of various structures and pipes; graded rip rap and stream bank improvements at various sites; erosion control; surface restoration; and all other appurtenances necessary to complete the project.
Each Bidder shall submit with their bid a bid bond issued by a surety licensed to do business in the State of Kansas in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total amount of their bid plus all alternates. Said guarantee shall be made payable to the Board of County Commissioners of Johnson County, Kansas.
The County reserves the right to award the contract to the lowest and best, responsive and responsible bidder(s) for the work covered by the bid and to reject any or all bids and to waive irregularities and informalities in any bid submitted.
Nonresident corporations that are not already registered with the Kansas Secretary of State and all nonresident individuals and partnerships are required by law to register with the Department of Revenue, State Office Building, Topeka, Kansas, and pay a fee for each and every contract as a precedent to commencing work on the contract. For contracts in excess of ten thousand dollars ($10,000.00) the foreign contractor shall file with the Department of Revenue an acceptable bond in an amount of ten percent (10%) of the contract.
No bid may be withdrawn within a period of sixty (60) days from the date of the bid opening.
