A mandatory pre-bid conference and site visit will be held at the Johnson County Wastewater, Mill Creek Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant located at 20001 W. 47th Street, Shawnee, Kansas, 66218 on April 20, 2011 at 9:00 a.m. Following the pre-bid conference a site tour will be held. Sample rock boring cores may also be viewed by appointment by contacting Dick Alexander at 913-715-8500.

The work consists of the following:
Wastewater Treatment Plant Modifications
? Construction of morning glory weirs and 96-inch pipe in Cell No. 8.
? Construction of a cast-in-place Plant Effluent Junction Box including a 96-inch electric operated slide gate and 108-inch diameter pipe.
? Construction of a Flow Metering & Down Shaft Inlet structure including a Parshall flume and trash rack.
? Modification of the Effluent Pump Station including removal of pumps, piping, and electrical conduit, and repair of the existing concrete floor slab.
? Modification of the existing outlet structures in Cell No. 8.
? Removal and replacement of the existing plug and check valves in the existing Influent Pump Station Valve Vault.
? Site Work, yard piping, yard structures, mechanical, electrical, Instrumentation, and other appurtenant work associated with the proposed facilities.
Tunnel
? Construction of a 110 feet deep, 20-foot finished diameter working shaft including excavation, initial support, and lining.
? Construction of approximately 9,778 linear feet of an 8-foot finished diameter tunnel including excavation, initial support, and pipe installation with annular grouting.
? Construction of a 135 feet deep, 10-foot finished diameter upshaft including excavation, initial support, and lining.
Upshaft Site Modifications
? Construction of a cast-in-place Upshaft Junction Box and 108-inch diameter pipe.
? Site Work and other appurtenant work associated with the proposed facilities.
